Physical Characteristics
All of RDT's Data Receiver Modules measure less than 30cm x 25cm x 6cm and
weigh less than 1kg. They are supplied by mains power (110-240V), are reliable and
power efficient and require no active cooling.
Their small size means that they can be installed into almost any location with
existing communications equipment. Once they are installed they require no maintenance or other User intervention.
Relay Module
This module can receive a circuit mode DSVD call and split it back into separate
serial data and circuit mode voice streams. The data is then forwarded on to the receiving
PC and the voice call is redirected into the PSTN to be received in the call centres as
a normal telephone call.
This module can also be used to receive a DSVD call at one location and transparently
forward it on to another location over the PSTN.
Ethernet Module
This module can receive DSVD and MCI calls as an IP stream and split them back
into their constituent voice and data streams. The data is then forwarded on to the receiving PC and the voice call is redirected into the PSTN to be received in the call centres as a normal telephone call.
This device can also be used to forward circuit mode DSVD and MCI data streams
as IP traffic over secure internet links. The modules have an advanced hardware firewall built into them with a full feature set of IP features such as point to point tunnelling, encryption
and the ability to monitor a link's status and provide email or pager notification of link failures.
