RDT developed its proprietary ADR technology to solve this problem.

This technology is built into Tempus 2000 as an optional module or can be supplied to other manufacturers as an OEM communications module or on a licence basis.

What is ADR?
ADR is a combination of hardware and firmware that takes a multi-layered approach to addressing the problems of reliably obtaining and maintaining stable data connections over 2k4baud Aero satcom connections such as Aero H, H+ and I.

ADR Delivers a Step Change in Data Performance
ADR radically improves data call performance when measured against both of the key metrics used to analyse this problem i.e. how often the data call will connect first time (the so called first-time-connection rate) and how long the average data call will remain in place (the bench-mark for in call stability being 30 minutes).

ADR a major success for RDT and other companies
ADR has enabled the successful introduction of the Tempus 2000 within the aviation market place. ADR is so effective that it has been licensed to major avionics companies who use it to improve their own data services.

Currently ADR technology is flying on over 500 aircraft and is providing reliable data connections for the Tempus as well as other aviation data applications, satisfying the needs of thousands of aircraft passengers on a daily basis.

As a telemedicine device, RDT's Tempus requires a connection that is easy and fast to set up and reliable once connected.
Reliably obtaining stable modem data connections over
2k 4baud Aero circuit mode data satcom services such as
Aero H, H+ and I is challenging. This situation is exacerbated
on commercial passenger jets by the multiple avionics
systems the analog modem data has to pass through.
