RDT Technology Flies on its 400th Aircraft

RDT is proud to announce that its unique ADR satellite data reliability technology is now flying on over 400 aircraft. ADR technology is now enabling reliable data communications and the transmission of vital signs medical data from hundreds of aircraft in flight. This is improving medical security and the overall flying experience for thousands of airline and business aviation passengers on a daily basis.

When RDT developed Tempus 2000, its revolutionary remote medical monitoring device that uses an in-built modem and the existing in-flight telephone system to send a patient's blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, heart rate (ECG) and blood oxygen level to ground based doctors for real-time analysis and treatment advice, they quickly realised that the problem of unreliable data communication links, from aircraft in flight, needed urgent attention.

RDT subsequently announced a technological breakthrough that overcame data connection reliability issues, Advanced Data Robustness (ADR).

Designed to ensure a continuous data connection, as reliable as a voice link, is maintained even under poor transmission conditions, this sophisticated communication solution was so successful that it was licensed less than a-year after its introduction to one of the worlds largest avionics companies. This company is using ADR to enable reliable transmission of various types of data to and from commercial and business aviation aircraft.

With the announcement that ADR technology is now flying on its 400th aircraft, Graham Murphy,
RDT's Managing Director and creator of Tempus 2000 and ADR commented: “We are thrilled with
the success of our revolutionary ADR technology. It means that, should a medical incident occur
mid-flight, Tempus 2000 will support a continuous satellite communication link to ground-based doctors so that customers can rest assured that they will be able to receive the fast and reliable advice from remote medical experts that they need.”
