Tempus Revolutionises Global Medical Security
With the expansion of global business opportunities, people are travelling further afield, often to places with a less sophisticated medical and communications infrastructure than they're used
to at home. However, whether travelling by car to a meeting in Beijing, on a flight to New York
or on a yacht in the Med, the ability to access expert, real-time medical help if someone is
taken ill remains critical.
Accessing this help from anywhere in the world, however remote, is now at hand with the launch of the Multi-Communications Interface (MCI) version of Tempus - the ground-breaking, remote patient monitoring system designed and manufactured by UK-based Remote Diagnostic Technologies Ltd that is already helping to save lives.
At the leading edge of telemedicine, Tempus uses its in-built communication module to send a sick person's blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, heart rate (ECG) and blood oxygen level to ground-based doctors who are able to feedback preventative or remedial action directly - exactly when and where it is needed.
Graham Murphy, Managing Director of RDT says I can confidently say that there is no
product - in or out of the medical arena - that can communicate seamlessly over as many communications technologies as the MCI enabled Tempus . We are delighted with the success of this state-of-the-art system that is already proving effective in helping people with no medical experience handle all sorts of remote medical incidents.
This latest innovation totally integrates the various communications platforms that already exist, enabling customers to transmit real-time voice and vital signs data by any communications means, be it over an aircraft phone, landline, GSM, WiFi, Ethernet or even a portable satellite terminal. As Graham continues This is part of RDT's ongoing strategy to ensure its products and services operate with the latest communication links our customers use and that they are future proof in terms of evolving technologies, such as Inmarsat's upcoming BGAN service. To this end, we're proud to have been part of the recent Airbus Wireless Cabin Project and to be installing Tempus on the first aircraft flying Gulfstream's latest communications offering, Broad Band Multi-Link (BBML).
The launch of this new version of Tempus means that people can now travel anywhere in the world, however remote, knowing that they are able to have the global medical protection that the Tempus system has been consistently providing.
